Jaw surgery in Westlake, TX

Jaw Surgery in Westlake, TX

Correcting how the jaw works and how it frames your face. Function and a sculpted jawline, in one surgical plan.

What Is Jaw Surgery?

Jaw surgery, known medically as orthognathic surgery, corrects the position and structure of the jaws. It can resolve problems with the bite, chewing, breathing, and speech, and it can reshape the jawline itself into a more balanced, sculpted profile.

Patients come to it for two reasons, and often both. Some have structural or congenital issues that braces alone cannot fix. Others want a stronger, more defined jawline. Dr. Stone is one of the few surgeons in the DFW Metroplex who offers this procedure, performing it with both the precision of a surgeon and the eye of an artist.

Jaw surgery to correct bite and reshape the jawline

Function and Beauty,
Addressed Together

Restores Full Function

Corrects misaligned bites and structural problems that affect chewing, breathing, and speech, often where orthodontics alone cannot.

Sculpts the Jawline

Reshapes the jaw into a more symmetrical, defined profile, enhancing the balance of the whole face, not just the jaw in isolation.

A Permanent Solution

Repositioning the bone addresses the root of the problem, delivering lasting results in both how the jaw works and how it looks.

1. Consultation & 3D Scan

X-rays, 3D facial scans, bite impressions, and photographs map the structure of your face and jaw, so the plan is built around your exact anatomy.

2. Planning Your Treatment

Dr. Stone designs a plan around your goals, functional, aesthetic, or both. In some cases this is coordinated with orthodontic treatment, with braces worn before surgery.

3. Jaw Surgery

Performed under general anesthesia, the jaw is accessed through incisions inside the mouth to avoid visible scarring. The bone is repositioned and secured, sometimes over more than one phase.

4. Healing

Initial healing takes up to six weeks, with complete healing by about twelve weeks. A liquid or soft diet and a splint may be part of recovery, guided by clear instructions from Dr. Stone.

5. Your Transformed Jawline

The result is a jaw that works better and frames your face beautifully, balanced, sculpted, and natural.
