1. Consultation & 3D Scan
X-rays, 3D facial scans, bite impressions, and photographs map the structure of your face and jaw, so the plan is built around your exact anatomy.
2. Planning Your Treatment
Dr. Stone designs a plan around your goals, functional, aesthetic, or both. In some cases this is coordinated with orthodontic treatment, with braces worn before surgery.
3. Jaw Surgery
Performed under general anesthesia, the jaw is accessed through incisions inside the mouth to avoid visible scarring. The bone is repositioned and secured, sometimes over more than one phase.
4. Healing
Initial healing takes up to six weeks, with complete healing by about twelve weeks. A liquid or soft diet and a splint may be part of recovery, guided by clear instructions from Dr. Stone.
